Project Spotlight: Converting a Volleyball Court to Usable Lawn at Melrose Gates

A volleyball court at Melrose Gates, a multifamily property in Brooklyn Center, was converted to usable lawn.

Ground Prep

Topsoil was brought in first to build up the grade. From there, the crew ran a Harley rake attachment on the skid steer to break up and level the surface ahead of planting.

Laying the Sod

With the ground prepped, the crew put down fertilizer and C20 soil builder and laid roughly 700 rolls of sod end to end across the site.

Veteran-owned and $2M insured, Clearline Outdoor runs the same crew standard on every job.

Ongoing Care

The work doesn't stop once the sod is down. New sod needs continuous watering while it establishes, and our crew checks in on how it's taking rather than assuming it's fine. If irrigation isn't performing effectively, we reach out directly instead of waiting for the property to notice a dry patch.

The Result

What had been a volleyball court is now a finished lawn, done once and done right, so it's not something ownership has to revisit.
